Attack on Titan

Earlier this month, Koei Tecmo announced that it was collaborating with Kodansha to develop and publish a new action game based on the highly-acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan.

Attack on Titan is set in a world where humanity has been almost wiped out by gigantic, human-eating beings called Titans. The surviving humans built enormous walls to protect themselves against the Titans, but these walls are about to be broken.

Also earlier this month, the first part of a two-part Attack on Titan live-action movie was released in Japan and several other Asian countries.

Unfortunately, the reception to the movie has been mixed. While Edmund Lee at South China Morning Post described the movie as one of the most perversely original fantasy movies in recent memory, Brian Ashcroft at Kotaku called the movie superficial, with too many changes made to the original story that only made things worse.

The second part of the movie will be released in September.
